Egg Rush · By Jamie Zhu (Y3)
I sobbed in disbelief! Many of my friends had been cracked and thrown into a world of trash. The freezing temperature made me believe even more that I was next to be cracked, whisked and tossed into the piles of bags to rot.
My anger convinced me to stop this evil. I waited until the giant killer came to crack us. As soon as the huge door opened, warmth and hope streamed inside. I rolled out, unaware of the floor which could lead to my death.
As I fell through the air, my shell deflected the light, resulting in the sting of the eye of the giant. It was like staring into the blazing sun. The giant slipped, and I landed unharmed, on his coat. I quickly rolled to his hood before he could get up. That’s when a crazy idea flooded my mind but I knew it was our only chance.
I pleaded into his ear, “Please change your mind! Cooking us will depress us. It is the same feeling your family and friends would experience if they were facing death.” It must have worked because he made his decision. He decided to be a vegan. Even though many eggs had been killed, it was worth saving many other eggs in the next generation.
